Jivan Vatayan continues his discussion of the trance that holds humanity captive. The dysfunctional (dysergy) reward system (“the Machine”) of culture is structured both in the technic of the cultural system and in the schema (Trance) of human awareness. As such it appears as normal. That is why even if people realize that the normality of culture is ecocidal nothing significant can seem to be done.
